Meet Liz our Etsy shop spotlight of this month. She is the creative designer behind the Thompson Boutique Critters.

Her shop are full of unique crochet critters patterns. Let’s get to know her a little more shall we?

1.Tell us a little bit about yourself and your shop?

My name is Liz and I’m the designer of Thompson Boutique Critters, TBC for short. My Mom taught me to sew and crochet when I was young and any time I’ve tried something, she’s always been there as one of my biggest fans, the other being my husband. I picked it up again 3 years ago and started crocheting amigurumi “critters” in “abstract” jungle colors. So one of my first patterns was the Plump Purple Pachyderm.

2.How did your etsy story start?

When I started crocheting the critters and selling them, I thought I can make the animals look the way I want them to.
So then when designing the next “critter” things just evolve. I never know what’s going to happen when I start a new design. Then this last summer I started the Gumball Dragon’s, which are little dragons shaped like gumballs that take on the attributes of the candy that they most like to eat.

3.What’s the story behind your shop name?

When I got married 4 yrs ago my Mom taught my husband and I to do home canning and we were making what we called “boutique” items. Something that you can’t find in any store. So we called that TBCanning. When I started designing the critters we just inserted the crocheting for canning because these are “one of a kind” items that you just can’t find anywhere.

4.What’s the most important thing you’ve learned as an Etsy seller so far?

Starting a designing business takes a lot of time and if you do quality work and create something that no one else does, you’ll be successful it will just take effort and time.

5.How are you promoting your etsy shop online social media or blog? How does that work for you?

I do have a blog and website www.tbcritters.com but I’m not a very good blogger.
