Summer crochet bikini top is here. I made this cute summer crochet bikini top in one afternoon while thinking of summer holiday on de beach. It work up pretty quick and easy to do just a combination of a few basic crochet stitch like single and double which is beginner friendly. This can be a pretty top for you girls can wear at the beach or a music festival upcoming in the summer.

I use cotton yarn for this project.

Gauge: 4 single crochet stitches x 4 rows = 1 square inch

– I used Lion brand 24/7 cotton

– 3.50mm crochet hook

– Sewing yarn needle

-Sl st (slip stitch)

-hdc which mean half double crochet

-dc which mean double crochet

-sc which mean single crochet

-ch Chain

-slip knot

This  crochet bikini top pattern is made for beginners!  There is a basic skill level required to make.

This top is made in size small. the other sizes  S (M,L) for example Ch 13 (16,19). For small it would be ch13, ch16 for medium, and ch19 for a large.

Summer crochet bikini top pattern Instruction.

Start with ch 13 (16,19) Make the cup.

Round 1: hdc in the second ch from hook. hdc in each ch across. In the last chain you will make (2hdc, ch2, 2hdc) all in the same chain. Now we are on the back side of the chain you will make 1 hdc in each ch down the row.  Ch1, turn your work.

Stitch chart example below.

Round 2: hdc in each stitch across from the previous round until you get to the ch2 space in the previous round. In that ch2 space make (1hdc,ch1,1hdc) all in the same chain space, and then make hdc in each of the next stitch from previous round. Ch1, turn your work.

Round 3-8 : repeat round 2 until you reach your desired width and height for your cup.

Repeat the same process for the second cup.

After we got 2 pieces of the cup we will continue to make outside of each cup border.

Outside cup border

Start at the bottom corner of each cup.

Round1. *Ch3, skip1 st and slst in next* repeat * to * until the end of the round. Fasten off and leave long tail.

Round2. make 3sc in the ch 3 space. *sl st in the next ch space, then make 3 sc in the next ch space* repeat * to* until the end of the round. Fasten off and leave long tail for sewing.

Repeat the same process with the other cup.

Time to connecting the cups

After we finished the outer border of 2 cups  but we still have the middle part of the cup still not joining so we will join them together use the yarn needle to stitch them up as pic above.

 

Now it’s time to add bottom border to crochet bikini top.

Row1. Lay 2 cups flatted together and start the new joined at the bottom of the corner of 1st cup then ch16 away from the cup. Turn And sc in each st along the bottom of cup included the chain that we just make.

When you reach the end of the second cup then ch16 away from the second cup, chain 2 and turn.

Row2. Make sc in each stitch across until the end of the row. Ch1, turn

Row3. Make a pretty lace , *dc in the next stitch,ch1, skip1 st, dc in next st* repeat *to* across until the end of the row. ch2, turn.

Row4. *dc in the ch space, ch1, dc in next ch space* repeat *to* across until the end of the row. ch2,turn

Row5-6. Repeat row4.

After this row fasten off and weave in ends.

Strap.

Neck strap, Joined yarn at the top of the cup and ch60 away from the cup, then repeat the same on the other side.

Back strap, Joined yarn at each end of the bottom of the bikini top and ch70 away from the top, then repeat the same on the other side.
