The Sassy top has a square neckline with a belly length, but we can make the length longer to be the hip length by just crocheting more rows to them.

For the example piece, I made the length just to cover enough of my belly because I am a lazy… crochet girl, lol, but you guys could add more length if you like.

Now you can see how easy to adjust the length of this peplum tank.

This Sassy crochet tank top features a tie strap and starts from just one rectangle that can wrap around your bust size, but if you girl want to show off your back a bit more.

You could crochet the rectangle, just cover the front part and let the back part free…..mmmm hope you girls know what I mean.

Top part.

The measurement of one rectangle.

  • 5 inches wide for all sizes.
  • The length is long enough to wrap around your bust size.
crochet a rectangle.

First, let’s measure your bust size example, my bust size is 32, so this will be the length of your top part.

Pick up a crochet hook size 4.0 mm and Start off by making a slip knot. Then make 20 chains for all sizes.

Row 1: in the first chain, make hdc, then make hdc in the next chain and in each chain across until the end of the row, ch 1, and turn.

Row 2: Blo only* in the first stitch, make hdc, then in the next st, make hdc, and in each st across until the end of the row, ch1 and turn.

Row3. repeat row 2 until you got enough length that can wrap around your bust and fasten off.

Bottom part-AKA the peplum part.

Join the edge at the bottom end of the rectangle.

How to join a crochet rectangle.

After joining them then, we will start on row 1. ( in this bottom part, we will work in a spiral. Do not join round at the end of round)

Round1. make sc in each stitch or in each space around the edge (do not join round and continue to round2)

Round2. Blo, make hdc in each stitch around.

Round3. Blo made hdc in each stitch around.

Round4. made 2sc in each stitch around.

Round5. make * sc in the first stitch, then dc in the next stitch* repeat this * to this * around until the end of the round.

Round6. repeat round 5 until you get your desired length for the top for me; my length is 5 inches, just enough to cover my belly button.

After you get your desired length, we will make the last 2 rounds for simple lace rounds; this is an option.

Round2. make * 2dc,ch2,2dc in the chain 2 space from the previous round* repeat this * to this until the end of the round and fasten off.

Add a tie strap.

Now you are done with the body part of the peplum tank top then we will be ready to add a tie strap; just simply chain away the number of chains that you will make depending on how long you want your strap to by my one is around 100-200 chain or less.
