Materials.

This free succulent coaster pattern is super flexible — you can use any yarn fiber you have on hand! Whether it’s cotton, acrylic, or a cotton blend, it’ll still turn out adorable. You can even mix and match scraps to give it that fun, textured look.

In this example,.

  • Yarn: I use scrap yarn, weight 4 medium  cotton blend, Lion brand Made with love, or you can substitute for any yarn weight u like and fiber content.
  • The example size is 3 by 3 inches: the circle measurement.
  • Crochet hook: size 4.0 mm.

  • sc, which means single crochet
  • ch Chain
  • slip knot
  • sk means skip-stitch
  • dc, which means double crochet
  • tr, which means treble crochet

The succulent coaster crochet pattern instruction.

Pick up a crochet hook size 4.0 mm and Start off by making a magic ring.

You will work by create the circle then add the leaf on the edge of the circle.

Round1. Make magic ring and 7sc in ring (7)

Round2. 2sc in each st around (14)

Round3. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st*      and repeat from * around (21)

Round4. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around (28)

Noted: If your circle is small, you can make it bigger. Just add more rounds of increase, for example: R.5 Sc in next 3 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around (35) and on the next round just make sc in each st.

Round5. in back loop only: Sc in each st around (28)

Add succulent leaf.

continue from round 5 we will change to green color.

First leaf: ch2, in next st make (1hdc, 1dc, 1tr all in same st). Then ch2. Sl st in the top of tr st to create the peak point of succulent leaf. In the next st make (1tr, 1dc, 1hdc all in the same st). Then ch2 and sl st in the next st. ch2.

Second leaf: In the next st, make (1hdc, 1dc, 1tr) all in the same st. Then ch2. Next, sl st in the top of tr st to create the peak point of the succulent leaf. In the next st, make (1tr, 1dc, 1hdc) all in the same st. Then ch2 and sl st in the next st. ch2.

Third leaf and more: repeat the second leaf until you get to the end of the round, then fasten off. Make as much as you like for the coaster.

Crocheting the basket/ pot plant.

Round1. Make magic ring and 7sc in ring (7)

Round3. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st*      and repeat from * around (21)

Round4. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around (28)

Round5. in back loop only: Sc in each st around (28)

Round 6- 14. Work in both loops: Sc in each st around (28), finished off. And you can roll the top edge to create the layer for the pot plant.
