This feminine crochet blouse is beginner friendly and made mostly from simple crochet stitches like single crochet and double crochet that you are most familiar with those stitches.

The best yarn & yarn substitution for making this beginner crochet babydoll top.
Well in this pattern you can use any DK weight yarn/3 light will work just fine.
I choose cotton yarn for this crochet summer blouse pattern because they are breathable and give a beautiful drape for the crochet top.
Acrylic yarn will work great as well it will give the crochet top light weight and frilly.
For example piece, I use 100% cotton yarn DK weight from Hobbii yarn called Rainbow.

- I used DK weight yarn / 3 light around 600 yards for size example small from bust size 32-34 inches.
- 4.0 mm crochet hook
- Sewing yarn needle

For me the model wearing this piece, I am 4’9 feet tall, bust 32 inches.

We will start crocheting 2 bra cups then join them and add the back panel then crochet the bottom part later.

Bra cup makes 2.
First, start making a bra cup by measuring your breast from the bottom part of your cup to the height of your nipples.
For example, mine got 3 inches then we will chain the number that will match the length of your measurement.
Mine 3 inches so I make 12 chains for the foundation. (example size fit cup A to B)

Start with ch 12 (cup a-b) (16 cup c,18 cup d) Make the cup.
Round 1: hdc in the second ch from hook. hdc in each ch across. In the last chain, you will make (2hdc, ch2, 2hdc) all in the same chain. Now we are on the back side of the chain you will make 1 hdc in each ch down the row. Ch1, turn your work.
Round 2: hdc in each stitch across from the previous round until you get to the ch2 space in the previous round. In that ch2 space make (1hdc,ch1,1hdc) all in the same chain space, and then make hdc in each of the next stitch from the previous round. Ch1, turn your work.
Round 3-7: repeat round 2 until you reach your desired width and height for your cup.
Repeat the same process for the second cup.
After we got 2 pieces of the cup we will join them together.
Join 2 crochet bra cups.
Now we will join 2 bra cups together by slip stitch or sc then sc in each stitch across the bottom edge of the 2 bra cup.
Add back panel.
Now we are going to add a back panel to one side of the bra cup edge by join the new yarn.
Then start to crochet sc in each stitch across at the end of the row chain and turn.
Then repeat to make sc row after row until then can wrap around your body or your desired length then fasten off.
Then join the back panel to the bra cup by sewing.
Add the bottom part of the babydoll top.
After we have the top part of the babydoll top finished then we will add the frilled part or the bottom part of the top by.
Join new yarn.
Round1. make sc in each stitch around ( no stitch count and do not join round we work in spiral)
Round2. make 2sc in each st around.
Round3. *in the first st make sc then in the next st make dc* repeat this * to * and around.
Round4. *make dc in the first st then sc in next st* repeat this * to * around.
Round5. and more repeat round 4 until you got your desired length my length is 5 inches long and fasten off.
Add puff sleeves.
Put a stitch maker from the edge 2.5-3 inches, then join the new yarn and make a chain that will fit from your armpit to another side.
The example size is 30 chains your chain will be different.

After we finished with the starting chain then we will make sc around the armhole for 1 round.
(we need to count this round because we will need to do the same for the second sleeve)
Round1. Make 2sc in each stitch around.
Round2. make sc in each stitch around and repeat round 2 until your get your desired length mine is 3 inches for short sleeves.
Round3. start to decrease by * in the first st make sc then make 1dec in next* repeat this * to * and around.
Round4-5. continue to decrease repeat round3.
Round6. make sc in each st around.
Now we will start to make a ruffle edge at the sleeve.
Round7. make 3sc in each stitch around.
Round8. make 2sc in each stitch around and fasten off.
Repeat the same for the second sleeve.
Make a tie strap.
Make a tie by simply making a chain in any number you like that is long enough to reach your neck.
Then pull the tie strap through the middle of the join bra cup.
All done.
