This cute poncho cardigan is super simple made from just 2 rectangles with youtube video tutorial include.
I used Lion brand 24/7 cotton yarn weight 4 aran. I use around 1500 yard. ( size s to large )
I used 2 color for this top.
– 5.00 mm hook
– Sewing yarn needle
Gauge: ” 3 stitch of herringbone double crochet = 1 inch
Note: we are crochet this poncho cardigan not too tight.

You will need to know how to make
-sc which mean single crochet
-Sl st (slip stitch)
-dc which mean double crochet
Herringbone double crochet stitch video tutorial.
–hbdc – herringbone double crochet: yarn over, insert hook into next chain, yarn over and pull through the chain and the first loop on the hook, yarn over and draw through 1 more loop on the hook, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.

The holliday poncho cardigan crochet instruction.
Start of by making a slip knot Then 170 chain plus 3 chain for all size =173 chains (foundation chain multiple of 2 + 3 ).
Row 1: pick up green color ,Skip first 3 ch from hook (counts as 1 dc), 1 hbdc in next ch and every ch until the end of the row, ( ch3 turn counts as 1 dc)
Row 2: , green, skip first st, 1 hbdc in next st and every st of hbdc until the end of the row, in the last st make hbdc in the ch3 of the previous row. ( ch3 turn counts as 1 dc)
Row3 and beyond : Repeat row 2 until we get 5 inch deep of green color.
small to Large 5 inches deep of green color
XL to 2XL 7 inches deep of green color
3XL to 4xl 9 inches of green color
Then we will switch up to yellow color repeat row2, until u got 1 inches deep.
then switch up to green color repeat row2, until u got 1.5-2 inch deep.
Then switch up to yellow color repeat row2, until u got 1 inch deep.
Then switch up to green color repeat row2, until u got 2 inches deep and fasten off.
And repeat the same method for the second piece.
After we got 2 pieces finished. Will look like this.
Assemble.
Lay two pieces in flatted side by side then fold them in half.
Use yarn needle to sew in the middle part to creat the back panel and sew on the side to create the body and for the harmhole no sew for 5-6 inches.
Adding the sleeve.
Adding the sleeve is for the option.
Join yarn at any part of the armhole and sc around the armhole for 1 round.
Then chain2 to start the
simple lace at the sleeve.
then dc in same st, * ch1,skip1st, dc in next st * repeat this* to * until end of round.
then *dc in chain space of the previous row*
Then repeat this * to * round after round until u got your desired lenght.
I end up making about 5 round.
All done!
