I am so happy to share this free pattern cute amigurumi baby cow called “Lolly”. Surely! everyone will love to have this cute little guy baby cow as a special gift.The tutorial will show you step by step photo instruction and easy to read pattern.

This is a quite an intermediate level by this I mean you need to know how to change colour and once you have the skill of changing colour this pattern will be easily to make, you can whip up a new pair of ami baby cow in any kind of yarn you like.

Finish Size

-Approximately 4.5 inch tall (without counting ear)

-Size of baby cow may varies depend on size of yarn and crochet hook

Materials

To make baby cow you will need

1. White, pink, brown and red colour  acrylic yarn in this pattern, I  normally used 8ply

2. Plastic eyes with safety backing 7.5mm ( you can find it at any craft shop)

3. Fibre polyester fill for stuffing

4. Sewing yarn needle

5. Embroidery

6. Ribbon for an optional

7. Crochet hook size1.25mm

Note

For the size of the crochet hook really does not matter. The doll designed will work just fine with different size of crochet hooks, only the end size of the creation will different slightly.

In this pattern is working in round continuously, you may use contrasting colour short piece of yarn to mark the beginning of each round. When round one end. Do not join at the end of each round; you will begin the second round in the next stitch.

At the end of each round, I have given the number of stitches you should have .If you are off by 1or 2 stitches, do not worry about it.

Skill and abbreviations

You will need to know how to make a magic ring or adjustable ring

-Single crochet (sc)

-Crochet increase (inc) which mean-make 2 single crochet in same stitch

-Crochet decrease (dec) which mean-Crochet 2 stitches  together

-Stitch (st)

* = Repeat stitches from * to end of *

-Chain       (ch)

-Slip stitch  (sl st)

Start with head (colour white)

You will work from top to bottom

Start with slip knot then chain 5 (5)

Row1. *Sc in next 3 st from hook, 2 Sc in next st* and repeat the same in other side *  (10)

Row2. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st*   and  repeat the same in other side(15)

Row3. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st* and repeat the same in other side(20)

Row4. *Sc in next 3 st,2sc in each of next 2 st* and repeat the same in other side  (28)

Row5-7. Sc in each st until the end of row and repeat the same in other side (28)

time with white yarn, for the last 3 st make sc in each of st with white yarn (12)

Round15. sc in each st and around with white yarn then finish of leave long tail for sewing (12)

Stuffing polyester firmly.

Arms make 2 pieces.

You will work from bottom to top

Round1. Make magic ring and 5sc in ring (5) pink

Round2. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st *     and repeat from * around   then have 1 last st free make

sc in that st pink (7)

Round3. sc in each st and around pink (7)

Round4-10. sc in each st   and around (7) white

Then finish of leave long tail for sewing and stuffing polyester just a little.

Ears make 4 pieces

Start with chain 5 (5)

Piece1 and 2

Round1. *Sc in next 4st from hook, 2 Sc in same st* and repeat from * around (12) pink

Round2. *2Sc in next st, sc in next 3 st*   and repeat from * around (15) pink

Round3. Sc in each of st around (15) white then finish of leave long tail for sewing and do not stuffing polyester in the ears .

Piece3 (yarn white) and 4 (yarn pink)

Start with chain 5 (5)

Round1. *Sc in next 4st from hook, 2 Sc in same st* and repeat from * around (12)

Round2. *2Sc in next st, sc in next 3 st*   and repeat from * around (15)

Round3. Sc in each of st around (15)

And sew it together

Leg

You will work from bottom to top

Make 2 pieces

Round1. Make magic ring and 8sc in ring (8) pink

Round2-3. sc in each st around (8) pink

Nose (brown)

Make 1 piece

Start with chain 8 (8)

Round1. *Sc in next 7st from hook, 2 Sc in same st* and repeat from * around (18)

Round2. (Sc in next 2st, dec1)   then   (sc in next 2 st, 2 Sc in next 2 st) then

* sc in next 3 st, 2 Sc in next st,*     and * repeat 1 time and finally have last 2 stitch

Then finish of leave long tail for sewing and stuffing polyester just a little .

Horns (brown)

You will work from top to bottom

Make 2 pieces

Round1. Make magic ring and 4sc in ring (4)

Round2. 2sc in next st, Sc in next 3 st (5)

Round3. 2sc in next st, Sc in next 4 st(6)

Round4-5. sc in each st around (6)

And finish of leave long tail for sewing.

Collar (red)

1. Ch 15 or length to fit your baby cow neck, do not join yet
2. Add decorative button, bell, etc.
3. fasten off and weave in ends

Finishing

Sew ears to the head and sew body to the head after finish the face and ears.

Then sew arms and attach legs to body so that baby cow is in a sitting or stand position.
