This free crochet leaf coaster pattern is one of my favorite ways to add a splash of handmade charm to my work space. And the best part? You can totally use up those yarn leftovers — win-win!

Materials.

This free succulent coaster pattern is super flexible — you can use any yarn fiber you have on hand! Whether it’s cottonacrylic, or a cotton blend, it’ll still turn out adorable. You can even mix and match scraps to give it that fun, textured look.

In this example.

  • Yarn: I use scrap yarn, weight DK or 4 medium  cotton blend, or you can substitute for any yarn weight u like and fiber content.
  • The example size is 4 inches from top leaf to bottom coaster DK weight: if u use 4 medium weight the size will be 5 inches.
  • Crochet hook: size 4.0 mm.

Skills & Abbreviations.

You will need to know how to make (American crochet term).

  • sc, which means single crochet
  • ch Chain
  • slip knot
  • sk means skip-stitch
  • dc, which means double crochet
  • puff stitch, which means yarn over then pull up a loop 3 time,s then pull the loops to finish the puff st crochet

The easiest leaf coaster crochet pattern instruction.

Pick up a crochet hook size 4.0 mm and start off by making a chain of four, then join the chain to create the circle.

Row1. ch3 count as a st then make 5dc in the ring, then ch1 and make 6dc in the ring then, ch1 ,sc in the ring and sl st to join the row.

Row2. ch3 count as a st then make 1dc in the ch3 space from the previous row, then make 2dc in each st untl you are at the ch1 space from the previous row ( the peak point of the leaf make 2dc,ch1,2dc now we will make 2dc in each st until end od row at the end make 1sc and sl st to join the row.

(28 st of dc)

Row3. ch3, then make 1 puff st in ch3 space from the previous row, then (ch1,sk1 st and make 1puff st in the next st) repeat this (*) until we are at peak point of the leaf we make 1puff,ch2,1puff then we will repeat (*) until end of the row, at the end we will make sc then sl st to join the row.

Row4. ch3, make ( 1 sc in the space from the previous row then make 2sc on top of each puff st) repeat (*) until we at peak point of the leaf we make 2sc,ch1,2sc, then repeat (*) until end of row, at the end we make sc then sl st to join the row and fasten off.

Round1. Make magic ring and 7sc in ring (7)

Round2. 2sc in each st around (14)

Round3. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st*      and repeat from * around (21)

Round4. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around (28)

Round5. in back loop only: Sc in each st around (28)

Round 6- 14. Work in both loops: Sc in each st around (28), finished off. And you can roll the top edge to create the layer for the pot plant.
