Stand with both arms stretched out to the sides. To measure from one wrist, across your shoulders and back, to the other wrist.
Use this wrist-to-wrist measurement as the width of your crochet rectangle.
Little tip
Keep your arms relaxed and straight while measuring—do not lift your shoulders. You can also make the poncho a little wider if you would like a more oversized and flowy fit.

Pick up a crochet hook size 4.0 mm;
My measurement is 50 inches I will make 130 chains + 1 = 131 chains
Row1. dc in next chain from hook, then dc in each chain across. Chain 2 and turn.
Row2. dc in same st then dc in each of the next st across untill the end of the row.
Row3. and more repeat row 2 until u will had the desired length for your poncho . mine one it around 15 inches.
Assemble poncho.
Fold your rectangle in half and make an open neck around 11 to 12 inches wide, and sew the tail to close the poncho.
