I am going to tell you guy that I love love making crochet summer top this day because they are so fun and quick to make and easy to mixed and match them with any summer or spring clothes!
So, Who is up for summer crochet top, like me?
So this summer top is a bit lacey style with long sleeve and I have add a bit of ruffle at the bottom to make is girly girl and oh…
The red color that I pick is so pretty shade of dark red which is perfect for any skin tone, For the brown skin like me I love the dark shade of red it suit me perfectly.
This pretty lace and breeze crochet top is made from 100% cotton yarn or you guy could use cotton blend yarn is perfect for this project as well.

Let’s get start!
– I used cotton DK weight yarn, Lion brand comfy cotton bland yarn, Lion brand coboo.
I use around 800 yard for small size.
– 4.0 mm crochet hook
– Sewing yarn needle

You will need to know how to make (American crochet term)
-Sl st (slip stitch)
-dc which mean double crochet
-sc which mean single crochet
-1sc decrease which mean sc 2 stitch togather
-sk which mean skip stitch
-ch Chain
-slip knot

This cute top is made in size small, for sizes M,L, XL,2XL, 3xl the detail will be in the pattern.
For me the model wearing this piece, I am 4’9 feet tall and the model piece is size small.

Measurement.
the rectangle (small size)
– 9 inches high
– 15 inches wide
easy breezy ruffle top instruction.
( Making the top front and back panel 2 pieces)
Pick up crochet hook size 4.0 mm and Start of by making a slip knot Then make 48+2= 50chains for size small (foundation chain multiple of 4+2).
( size M 56+2 chain)
( size L 64+2 chain)
( size XL 76+2 chain)
( size 2XL 88+2 chain)
( size 3XL 96+2 chain)
Row 1: Sc across, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: then skip the first stitch and make 2dc,ch2,2dc all in the same of the next stitch , then
* skip 3 and make 2dc, ch2,2dc all in next stitch* repeat * to * across until end of the row, then you will have 2 stitch left sk1 and make 1dc in last stitch. ch3 and turn.
Row3. now you will make * 2dc,ch2,2dc in the chain space of the previous row* repeat * to * across until end of the row. at the end make 1dc in ch3 space of the previous row. ch3 and turn.
Repeat row 3 until you get around 9 inches long.
Repeat the same process for the second pieces.
Assembly top part.
Now you have 2 pieces then we will ready to assembly the top part of the lace summer top.
Lay 2 pieces of rectangles in flatted on top of each other.
And sew as photo below.
Now we finished assembly the top part of summer lace top, we will move on to make the bottom ruffle part by Join yarn at each end of the rectangles.
After we join at the end point then we are going to make the ruffle part by.
Round1. sc in each stitch around the circle for 1 round.
After we finished of make sc around the circle for 1 round then on the next round we make
Round2.*1dc in next st ,ch1,sk1 and make 1dc in the next st* repeat this* to* until the end of the round.
Round3. dc in each stich around.
Round4. make ruffle base for fancy lace stitch *3dc in next st , 1dc in the next st* repeat this* to* until the end of the round.
After we got the base then we start to making fancy lace stitch by,
Round5. skip the first stitch and make 2dc,ch2,2dc all in the same of the next stitch , then* skip 3 and make 2dc, ch2,2dc all in next stitch* repeat * to * across until end of the round ( don’t join round), then if you have 2 stitch left sk1 and make 1dc in last stitch. Or if you have 1 stitch left make dc in that st. ( don’t join round and continue to next round).
Row6. now you will make * 2dc,ch2,2dc in the chain space of the previous row* repeat * to * across until end of the round.
Repeat round 6 until you get your desire length of your top then fastern off. ( my length is around 5-6 inches long of ruffle )
Sleeve.
Join new yarn at any point of the arm hole.
Round1. sc in each stitch around the circle for 1 round.
After we finished of make sc around the circle for 1 round then ch2,
Round2. skip the first stitch and make 2dc,ch2,2dc all in the same of the next stitch , then* skip 3 and make 2dc, ch2,2dc all in next stitch* repeat * to * across until end of the round ( don’t join round), then if you have 2 stitch left sk1 and make 1dc in last stitch. Or if you have 1 stitch left make dc in that st. ( don’t join round and continue to next round).
Round3. now you will make * 2dc,ch2,2dc in the chain space of the previous row* repeat * to * across until end of the round.
Repeat round 3 until you get your desire length of your sleeve then we will continue to mae a cuff for the sleeve. ( my length is around 10 inches long)
Now we will make the cuff for the sleeve.
After we got your desired length of our long sleeve then we will make ,
Cuff.
Round1. sc in each stitch around the circle for 1 round.
Round2. *sc in each of the next 2 stitch then 1 sc decrease( which mean sc together) * repeat this* to * around the circle for 1 or 2 round.
Round3-4. sc in each stitch around. then fastern off.
Repeat this for the second sleeve.
All done!

Hi lori for size2x for my tip the size of your rectagle should be matching you fitting t-shirt.

HI Lori. you rectangle should be about your bust size brign your fitting t shirt and make the rectagle or the foundation chain then if the foundation chain match your fitting t shirt , if it off by 1 or 2 inch donot worry about it because the yarn and the stitch will stretch it out, it all good, this is the tip that i always use.

I haven't started this yet, but had a questions about the ruffle. Are you using stitch markers to mark the end of each round? How are you joining the end of the last round on the ruffle and the sleeeves?
