Giraffe crochet amigurumi free pattern

Wanna  make cute  Giraffe? This funky little friend is perfect for you! His name is Mr. Jason. My inspiration to made him  was from Wellington zoo.

So are you ready to make him?

 

Finish Size
-Approximately 4.5 inch tall (without counting horn)
-Size of giraffe may varies depend on size of yarn and crochet hook

Materials
To make giraffe you will need
1. White, brown, yellow ,pink and red colour acrylic yarn in this pattern, I normally used double knitting
2. Plastic eyes with safety backing 7.5mm (you can find it at any craft shop)
3. Fibre polyester fill for stuffing
4. Sewing yarn needle
5. Embroidery
6. Ribbon for an optional
7. Crochet hook size1.25 mm
Note

For the size of the crochet hook really does not matter. The
doll designed will work just fine with different size of crochet hooks, only
the end size of the creation will different slightly.

In this pattern is working in round continuously, you may use
contrasting colour short piece of yarn to mark the beginning of each round. When
round one end. Do not join at the end of each round; you will begin the second
round in the next stitch.

At the end of each round, I have given the number of stitches you
should have .If you are off by 1or 2 stitches, do not worry about it.

Skill and abbreviations

You will need to know how to make a magic ring or adjustable ring

-Single crochet (sc)

-Crochet increase (inc) which mean-make 2 single crochet in same
stitch

-Crochet decrease (dec) which mean-Crochet 2 stitches  together

-Stitch (st)

* = Repeat stitches from * to end of *

-Chain       (ch)

-Slip stitch  (sl st)

Start with head (yellow)

Start with chain 5 (5)

Round1. *Sc in next 3 st from hook, 2 Sc in next  st* and repeat from * around (10)

Round2. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st*   and repeat from * around (15)

Round3. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st*  and repeat from * around (20)

Round4. *Sc in next 3 st,2sc in  each of  next 2 st* and repeat from *around (28)

Round5-7. Sc in each st around (28)

Round8. *Sc in next 4 st,2sc in each of  next 2 st*  and repeat from * around  then have last 4 st   make sc in  each of st (36)

Round9.  Sc in each st around (36)

Round10. *sc in each of next 4 st,dec 1*   and  repeat from * around (30)

Round11. *sc in each of next 6 st,dec 1*   and  repeat from * around then have last 6
st  make sc in  each of st(27)

Round12. *sc in each of next 3 st,dec 1*   and  repeat from * around then have last 2

Nose (white) make 1 piece

Start with chain 11 (11)

Round1. *Sc in next 9 st from hook, 2 Sc in next  st* and repeat from * around (22)

Round2.  (2Sc in next 2st).Then   sc in each st around (24)

Round3.   *sc in each of next 4 st, 2sc in next st *    and  repeat from * around then

have   last 4 st free , make sc in each of stitch (28)

Round4.   sc in each st around (28)

Round5.   *sc in each of next 3 st, 2sc in next st *    and  repeat from * around then

have   last 3 st free , make sc in each of stitch (28)

Round6-7.   sc in each st around (28)

Finish of leave long tail for sewing and stuffing polyester just a little.

Ears (brown) make 2 pieces. Start with chain 8 (8)

Round1. *Sc in next 6 st from hook, 2 Sc in next  st* and repeat from * around (16)

Round2. *Sc in next 2st, 2sc in next  st*  and repeat from * around (21)

Round3. Sc in each of st  around (21)

Then finish of leave long tail for sewing and do not stuffing polyester in the ears.

Body (yellow)

You will work from bottom to top

Round1. Make magic ring and 6sc in ring (6)

Round2. 2sc in each st around (12)

Round3. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st *      and repeat from * around (18)

Round4.* Sc in next 2 st, 2sc in next st*   and repeat from * around (24)

Round5. *Sc in next 3 st, 2sc in next st*   and repeat from * around (30)

Round8-11. sc in each st around (24)

Round12.   *sc in each of next 3 st,dec 1*    and  repeat from * around then

Round13. *sc in each of next 2 st,dec 1*    and  repeat from * around  (15)

Round14.  *sc in each of next 2 st,dec 1*    and  repeat from * around  (12)

Round15-18. sc in each st and around  then finish of leave long tail for sewing (12)

Stuffing polyester firmly.

Horns  (pink)

You will work from  top to bottom

make 2 pieces

Round1. Make magic ring and 5sc in ring (5)

Round2-5.   sc in each st around (5)

And finish of leave long tail for sewing.

Arms  (yellow)make 2 pieces

You will work from bottom to top

Round1. Make magic ring and 8sc in ring (8)

Round2-10. sc in each st and around  (8)

Then finish of leave long
tail for sewing and stuffing polyester just a little.

Leg

You will work from bottom to top

Make 2 pieces.

Round1.  Make magic ring and 6sc in ring (6) brown

Round2.  2sc in each st around (12) brown

Round3.  *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st *      and repeat from * around (18)brown

Round4.   *sc in each of next 3 st,dec 1*    and  repeat from * around then

have   last 3 st free , make sc in each of stitch (15) yellow

Round5.   sc in each st around (15) yellow

Round6.   *sc in each of next 2 st,dec 1*    and  repeat from * around then

have   last 3 st free , make sc in each of stitch (12) yellow

Round7-10.   sc in each st around (12) yellow and finish of leave long tail for sewing

Spots (brown)

Make 3-5 pieces

Round1. Make magic ring and 6sc in ring (6)

Round2.   2sc in each st
around (12) and finish of leave long tail for sewing.

Collar (red)

1. Chain 15 or length to fit your giraffe neck, donot join yet.
2.  Add decorative button, bell,  etc.
3. fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing

Sew ears to the head and sew body to the head after finish the face and ears

Then sew arms and attach legs to body so that giraffe is in a sitting or stand position.
