Meet Alex! Little penguin. He love to surf and adventure. He practice surfing a lot because when he grow up he want to became Surf Lifeguards to  protecting a life and rescued people.

Finish Size

-Approximately 3.5 inch tall

-Size of Alex may varies depend on size of yarn and crochet hook

Materials

To make Alex penguin you will need

1. White ,orange, yellow, blue and black  acrylic yarn in this pattern, I normally used
8 ply

2. Plastic eyes with safety backing 7.5mm (you can find it at any craft shop)

3. Fibre Polyester fill for stuffing

4. Sewing yarn needle

5. Ribbon

7. Crochet hook size1.25mm  and craft glue

Note

For the size of the crochet hook really does not matter. The
doll designed will work just fine with different size of crochet hooks, only
the end size of the creation will different slightly.

In this pattern is working in round continuously, you may use
contrasting colour short piece of yarn to mark the beginning of each round. When
round one end. Do not join at the end of each round; you will begin the second
round in the next stitch.

At the end of each round, I have given the number of stitches you
should have .If you are off by 1or 2 stitches, do not worry about it.

Skill and abbreviations

You will need to know how to make a magic ring or adjustable ring

-Single crochet (sc)

-Crochet increase (inc) which mean-make 2 single crochet in same
stitch

-Crochet decrease (dec) which mean-Crochet 2 stitches  together

-Stitch (st)

*  = Repeat stitches from *

Let’s start with head (white)

You will work from top to bottom

Round1. Make magic ring and 7sc in ring (7) white

Round2. 2sc in each st around (14) white

Round3. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st*      and repeat from * around (21) white

Round4. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around (28) white

Round5. *Sc in next 3 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from *around (35) white

Round6-11. Sc in each st around (35) white

Round12. *sc in each of next 4 st,dec 1*   and  repeat from * around then have last
5 stitch free make sc in each of  those stitch (30) with white yarn

Round13. *sc in each of next 3 st,dec 1*    and  repeat from * around (24) with white
yarn

Round14. *sc in each of next 2 st,dec 1*     and repeat from *around (18) ) with white yarn

Round15. *sc in each of next st,dec 1*  and repeat repeat from * around) with white yarn, then finish of leave long tail for sewing(12).And stuffing polyester firmly

Hat (Black)

You will work from top to bottom

Round1. Make magic ring and 7sc in ring (7)

Round2. 2sc in each st around (14)

Round3. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st*      and repeat from * around (21)

Round4. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around (28)

Round5. *Sc in next 3 st,2sc in next st*     and repeat from *around (35)

Round6-11. Sc in each st around (35) finish of leave long tail for sewing.

Round11.1  start crochet on 11^th st of round11 (Sc in next 8 st   flo),

turn(Sc in next 7 st   flo),

turn(Sc in next 6 st flo ), (Sc in next 5 st   flo), (Sc in next 4 st flo  ), (Sc innext 3 st  flo), (Sc in next 2 st flo  ) ,(Sc in next st flo ) Finish off leave long tail for sewing.

Wings (colour black)

Make 2 pieces

Round1. Make magic ring and 6sc in ring (6)

Round2. 2sc in each st around (12)

Round3. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st*      and repeat from * around (18)

Round4. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around (24)

Then finish of leave long tail for sewing and do not stuffing polyester.

Fold circle in half and sew it together.

Legs (colour orange)

Make 2 pieces

Round1. Make magic ring and 7sc in ring (7)

Round2. *Sc in next st, 2sc in next st*   and repeat from * around have last st free make sc in  that st(10)

Round3-5.  sc in each st around (10)

Then finish of and  stuffing polyester just a little .

Body

Body we make by jioning 2 leg together follow the pictures.

Round1.  sc  in each st around 2 leg and 2sc in last  st (22) blue

Round2.   *Sc in next 2 st, 2sc in next st*   and repeat from * around last st free make 1sc on that st  ( 29) blue

Round3-4.   sc  in each st around  (29) blue

Round5.  *sc in each of next 4 st,dec 1*    and  repeat from * around  (25) last 5 st free make 1sc on that st (25)  white

Round6.  Sc in each st around (25) white

Round7.   *sc in each of next 3 st,dec 1*    and  repeat from * around (20)  white

Round8-9.    Sc in each st around (20) white

Round10.   *sc in each of next 3 st,dec 1*    and  repeat from * around (16)  white

Round11.   Sc in each st around (16) white

Finish of leave long tail for sewing. And stuffing polyester firmly.

Mouth (yellow)

Make 1 piece

Start with chain 8 (8)

Round1. *Sc in next 7st from hook, 2 Sc in same  st* and repeat from * around (18)

Then finish of leave long tail for sewing .

Fold in half.

Surfboard (red)

You will work from top to bottom

Round1. Make magic ring and 5sc in ring (5)

Round2. 2sc in each st around (10)

Round3. *Sc in next  st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around (15)

Round4. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around (20)

Round5. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st* and repeat from *around  have last 2 st free make sc in that(26)

Round6-7. Sc in each st around (26)

Round8. *Sc in next 2 st,2sc in next st*    and repeat from * around  have last 2 st free make sc in that(34)

Round9-11. Sc in each st around (34)

Round12. *sc in each of next 2 st,dec 1*  and repeat from * around have last 2 st free make sc in that(24)

Round13-14. Sc in each st around (24)

Round15. *sc in each of next 2 st,dec 1*   and repeat from *around (18)

Round16. *sc in each of next st,dec 1*   and repeat from * around  until close the hole, finish off  (count st is not important in this round)

And stuffing polyester just a little .

Finishing

sew hat on to the face then attach body and wing.
