Well, I alway love the fairly tale story and I thought I want to make one for myself and dress it up as a custume for the cute photo shoot.

So the basic construction of this hooded cape is made from just a simple shawl and then I have add the hooded and a pom pom to spice it up to the cuteness overload.
Then they turn into the fairytale crochet pattern that you will adore.
The hood cape is beginner perfect.
Because they use mostly double crochet stitch for the most part of the cape pattern
Let’s get into the free pattern!
– I used DK weight yarn/3 light any kind of fiber, ether a cotton or acrylic yarn
– 6 mm crochet hook
– Sewing yarn needle
-stitch marker
Gauge: 2 group of fancy lace stitch = 4 inch
This crochet cape when I did not add hooded , it’s also look great on it own can be great for a shawl.

Skill and abbreviations
You will need to know how to make (American crochet term)
-sc which mean single crochet
-dc which mean double crochet
-ch Chain
-slip knot
-sk mean skip stitch

Size small to Large in the example video and photo.
Other size will be in detail of the pattern.
For me the model wearing this piece, I am 4’9 feet tall.

Easy crochet cape with hood pattern instruction.
First we need to measure our own shoulder to get the right size , what the video tutorial on 2:39 mintues.
The measurement of the cape is around 28 inch for example size small to large.

Pick up crochet hook size 6mm and Start of by making a slip knot Then make
84+2= 86 chains for s to L
96+2=98 chain for XL to 2XL
124+2=126 chain for 3xL
(foundation chain multiple of 4+2).
Row 1: Sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: dc across until you are at the last 2stitch make 2dc in each of the last 2 stitch, ch 2, turn.
Row 3: dc across until you are at the last 2stitch make 2dc in each of the last 2 stitch, ch 2, turn.
Row4. make ruffle base for fancy lace stitch *3dc in next st , 1dc in the next st* repeat this* to* until the end of the row. ch3 and trun
Row 5: skip the first stitch and make 2dc,ch2,2dc all in the same of the next stitch , then
* skip 3 and make 2dc, ch2,2dc all in next stitch* repeat * to * across until end of the row, then you will have 2 stitch left sk1 and make 1dc in last stitch. ch3 and turn.
Row6. now you will make * 2dc,ch2,2dc in the chain space of the previous row* repeat * to * across until end of the row. at the end make 1dc in ch3 space of the previous row. ch3 and turn.
Repeat row 6 until you get around 12 inches long.
Edging on the cape.
On the last row of the cape. After you got your desired lenght of the cape then we will crochet the edging on the last row by make 1dc in each stitch and 2dc on chain 2 space.
Now it time to ad the tie and pom pom to the cape.
After we finished adding the tie and pom pom then we will move on to make the hoodie hat foe this pretty cape.

Instruction for the hoodie hat.
Pick up crochet hook size 6mm and Start of by making a slip knot Then make 36+2= 38chains for all size (foundation chain multiple of 4+2).
Row 1: Sc across, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: then skip the first stitch and make 2dc,ch2,2dc all in the same of the next stitch , then
* skip 3 and make 2dc, ch2,2dc all in next stitch* repeat * to * across until end of the row, then you will have 2 stitch left sk1 and make 1dc in last stitch. ch3 and turn.
Row3. now you will make * 2dc,ch2,2dc in the chain space of the previous row* repeat * to * across until end of the row. at the end make 1dc in ch3 space of the previous row. ch3 and turn.
Repeat row 3 until you get around 27 inches long.
Now Fold them in half and sew the back to create the hoodie.

then attached hoodie hat to the cape by sewing using yarn needle.

All done!

Just confused on the "Row4. make ruffle base for fancy lace stitch" , what exactly is a 'ruffle base' ? I love the way this pattern looks so far though.

Hi Xander What I mean the ruffle base it just a simple row of non lace stitch like sc or dc before u make the ruffle lace stitch.
