With the oh so popular of The red riding hood crochet pocket scarf so I make another one of hooded scarf. This time, I pick up the perfect grey color to make so ” Chloe hooded scarf ” with pockets was born.

This  is an effortless winter accessory for everyone to enjoy with the timeless grey color which is great for mixed and match with any color of shirt and jean. You will be trendy and stylish every time you pick them up to wear.

They are a scarf and hood to keep your head and your hand warm at the same time all in one, so versatile! and fun to make.

I use  acrylic yarn  to make this pretty hoodie pockets scarf.

The design is so easy to crochet even a beginner all you need to know is how to make single crochet, half double crochet and chain! The ribbing effect on the band is make separate from the main scarf which make from half double crochet.

Let’s get start!

– I used   Lion brand wool Ease chunky yarn or for non wool I recommend Brava Bulky yarn from knit pick.

-Yarn weight  5 chunky

6 mm crochet hook or J/10 US hook size

Sewing yarn needle

Skill and abbreviations

(American crochet terms)

You will need to know how to make

-Sl st (slip stitch)

-sc which mean single crochet

-hdc which mean half double crochet

-Blo which mean crochet in back loop only

-ch, Chain

-slip knot

Gauge: 3 stitches x 3 rows = 1 square inch

Finished Size Approximately: one size fit all

Measurement of the scarf.

-7 inches wide

-70 inches long lay flatted without pocket and the band

This pattern is made for beginners!  There is a basic skill level required to make.

Chloe scarf instruction.

Start of by making a slip knot Then make 22 chains foundation chain.

Row 1: sc in each chain across, ch1 turn

Row 2: sc in the next stitch from hook * ch1, skip 1 st, sc in next st * repeat * to * across until the end of the row. Ch1 turn

Row 3: sc in the first ch space * ch1, skip 1 st, sc in next ch space * repeat * to * across until the end of the row and make sc on the turning ch. Ch1 turn

Row4:  Repeat row 3 until you has reached the desired length.

For my scarf I measure about 70 inch long and 7 inch wide.

Finish off and leave long tail for sewing,

Time for make the hoodie hat.

Start of by making a slip knot Then make 28 chains foundation chain.

Row 1: sc in each chain across, ch1 turn

Row 2: sc in the next stitch from hook * ch1, skip 1 st, sc in next st * repeat * to * across until the end of the row. Ch1 turn

Row 3: sc in the first ch space * ch1, skip 1 st, sc in next ch space * repeat * to * across until the end of the row and make sc on the turning ch. Ch1 turn

Row4:  Repeat row 3 until you has reached the desired length.

For my hooded I measure about 13 inch deep and 10 inch wide ( without band).

and Measure in  one piece of rectangle.

26 inch long and 10 inch wide.

Then fold in half and we  stitching up the back of the rectangle to form the hoodie by using yarn needle. If you guys can’t picture how I did this then have a look at how I make my teddy bear hoodie hat have more detail on it.

A band We make separate from the scarf and hoodie

So we make 2 piece for each side of the pocket and 1 piece for hoodie hat.

Start of by making a slip knot Then make 8 chain (foundation chain) .

Row1.   hdc in the next chain from hook , then 1hdc in the next all across until the end of the row , Turn chain 1

Row 2. Blo, hdc in the next stitch from hook , then 1hdc in the next all across until the end of the row , Turn chain 1

Repeat row 2 until you has reached the length that match the wide of the scarf.

The band of the hoodie I measure mine is 26 inch long and 2 inch wide.

For the scarf band I measure mine is 7 inch long and 2 inch wide.

Now we are ready to assembly Chloe hood pocket scarf.

we attach the band to the each end of the scarf by sewing using a yarn needle after we finished attached the band then we taking one end of the scarf, fold it back 7 inch on top of the scarf  ( including band). This will create the pocket.

Repeat on the other end of the scarf.

For the band of the hoodie we attached them by sewing.

After we done with 1 piece of the hoodie and the pocket scarf then we attach the hoodie to the pocket scarf.

Finally you could add the pom pom to give the finishing touch or it’s also very pretty as it is without pom pom.

Now you have your very own Chloe scarf.
