For the love of bobble crochet stitch That I had, I love the pop up texture that bobble stitch give and the fun to making it and turn them into something wearable for this summer and spring.

I made this Bubble gun poncho using 100% cotton for the breezy and light weight to wear for spring to summer season but if you guy want them to be a bit warm and great for winter just swish up with wool blend yarn or acrylic yarn that will be perfect for freezing cold day.
This easy poncho is made from just 2 rectangles mostly double crochet and the little trick is crochet in back loop which give the poncho so much pretty texture.

Let’s get start!
– I used Lion brand 24/7 cotton . I am using about 6-7skein around 1,200 yard fit size small to medium.( easy to adjust the size see pattern instruction below) yarn weight 4 worsted medium.
Color is pink
– 3.0 mm crochet hook or C/2 US hook size
– Sewing yarn needle
Gauge: 3 double crochet stitch = 1 inch
Note: we are crochet this poncho loosely not too tight.

Skill and abbreviations
(American crochet terms)
You will need to know how to make
-St which mean stitch
-sc which mean single crochet
-dc which mean double crochet
-Blo which mean crochet in back loop only
-ch, Chain
-slip knot
Bobble stitch: yarn over insert your hook into the stitch that you want to make bobble then pull up a loop and yarn over pull through 2 loop then insert your hook into same stitch and repeat that 4 time until have 6 loop on your hook then yarn over pull through all 6 loop and make single in the next st, Bobble complete!
Finished Size Approximately:
Small to Large ( other size to make it bigger by add more chain to foundation chain, detail in the pattern)
For me the model wearing this piece, I am 4’9 feet tall.
Measurement. ( size small to large)
one rectangle of front part of bobble stitch. 18×16 inch.
one rectangle of front part 18×32 inch.
Bubble gum easy poncho instruction.
Front panel.
Pick up crochet hook size 3.0 mm and Start of by making a slip knot Then make 60 chains for small to Large
(foundation chain multiple of 4 ).
Row1: make, dc into next chain from hook and in each chain across until the end of the row.
Row 2: ch 1 turn, sc into first 2 sts. *Bobble stitch into next stitch, sc into next 3 sts*. Repeat between * and * until you have 4 sts left then make sc in each of the last 4 sts.
Row 3: ch 1 turn, dc in each stitch until the end of the row.
Row4: ch1, turn, *dc in next st, ch1 ,skip1 st then dc in next st* repeat this * to * until the end of the row.
Row5: ch 1 turn, *1dc in each stitch and 1dc in chain space* repeat * to * until the end of the row.
Row6 and beyond,Keep Repeating row 2-5 until you get 16 inch long.
After we get 16 inch long of bobble stitch front panel we will continue to make them longer by using another crochet stitch.
Row1. ch2, then make* 1dc in chain space of the previous row and 1dc on each st* repeat this * to * across until the end of the row.
Row2. ch2, then 1dc in each stitch across until the end of the row. ( back loop only)
Row3. ch2, then 1dc in each stitch across until the end of the row. (back loop only)
Row4 and beyond. repeat row 3 until we get 32 inch long. and fasten off.
After we finish front panel set aside and waiting for assembly.
Back panel.
Pick up crochet hook size 3.0 mm and Start of by making a slip knot Then make 60 chains ( size small to large)
(foundation chain multiple of 2 )
( for size xl and 2xl 72 chain) , ( size 3xl and 4xl 84 chain).
Row1. ch2, then make 1dc in each chain across until the end of the row.
Row2. ch2, then 1dc in each stitch across until the end of the row. ( back loop only)
Row3. ch2, then 1dc in each stitch across until the end of the row. (back loop only)
Row4 and beyond. repeat row 3 until we get 32 inch long. and fasten off.
After we finish back panel set aside and waiting for assembly.
Assembly.
Lay 2 pieces in flatted then use one end of back panel attach to front end of front panel by sewing with your favorite method. pic below.
After attached front of the poncho already, now we are going to fold each end to create the back of poncho and attach them by sewing. see pic below.
Now when you try it on and it slip off your shoulder if the open neck is too wide for you this problem had happen to me. if the poncho does not slip off your shoulder when you guy try it on then you did not need to do it.
we will sew a bit further up about 3-4 inch up from the back panel. see pic below.
Now enjoy your new poncho.

HI Babara, yes they are 3sc between each bobble.
Next part says row 1 ch 2 then DC in space of prev row. The previous row is row 5 there are no spaces

Hi Wendy, when u finished the rectangle piece then you will fold each end up like a half triangle and sew to create the arm first then you will add the collar after that. Ialso have step by step photo in the tutoriall for u in the post.

Is the measurement for rows of Bobble Stitch still 16 in or is it longer for bigger sizes?
And is it correct that the front panel is completely done with 3mm hook while the back is done with 5mm hook?
