Material.

– I used cotton DK weight yarn 500 yard for size small to medium from bust size 32-36 inch.

– 3.5 mm crochet hook

– Sewing yarn needle

Gauge: 4 hdc = 1 inch

Skill and abbreviations

you will need to know how to make (American crochet term)

-sc which mean single crochet

-dc which mean double crochet

-hdc which mean half double crochet

-blo which mean crochet in back loop only

-1dec which mean crochet decrease = crochet 2 stitch together to become 1 stitch

-ch Chain

-slip knot

-sk  mean skip stitch

Finished Size Approximately:

 This example tank top is made to fit size small to medium 32-36 inch bust size

see pattern below for size Large and XL.

For me the model wearing this piece, I am 4’9 feet tall, bust 32 inch.

This example ribbed tank top the lenght is 13 inch long include the strap.

The foundation chain is the lenght of the tank top for all size (all size made the same).

Start making foundation chain for all size.

We will start with 30 chain After we chain 30 chains you will get around 7.5 inch long ( the strap not include) then will will start on row1.

Row1. Make hdc in each chain across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn.

Row2. Make hdc back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn

Row3 and 4. repeat row 2 chain 1 and turn.

For size L and XL repeat row 2 until row 6.

Now we will start to make a curve kind of like a round neck line to the tank top by crochet increase which mean make 2hdc in the same stitch.

From row 5-12 are for all size do the same.

Row5. Make 1hdc in back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row then at the last stitch make 2hdc. chain 1 and turn.

Row6. Make 2hdc in the first stitch continue to increase from row5. then make 1hdc back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn.

Row7-9. repeat row 6 then at the end of row9 we will chain 18 to make the strap , chain1 and turn.

Row10. Make hdc in each chain and back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn

Row11. Make hdc back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn

Row12. Make hdc back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn

Now we will start to make a slope for the armhole of tank top by crochet decrease which mean crochet 2 stitch together to become one stitch.

Row13. Make hdc in each chain across in back loop only until you are nearly the end of the strap then measure 4 inch from strap egde then place stitch maker on the last stitch of 4 inch that you measure. Watcht the video for full understand then we will made 1 dec before the 4 inch meet then chain 1 and turn.

Row14. Make 1dec in the first 2 stitch continue to decrease from row13. then make 1hdc back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn.

Row15-20. repeat row 14 then at the end of row then fasten off for size small to medium.

For size Large and XL

Continue from row20.

Row21. Make hdc in each chain and back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn

Row22. Make hdc back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn

Row23. Make hdc back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn

Row24. Make hdc in each chain and back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. And fastern off.

Now we finished one side of the tank top and we will make the other half to complete the top.

Join new yarn at the top end of the top then repeat the same process from row1-row 24.

Assemble the tank top.

Lay the front panel and back panel then use yarn needle to sewing on the side of the top and the the edge of the strap.
