The yarn That I use in this example piece is cotton Dk weight yarn/ 3 light.

You can pick and fiber content for this sweater for example, polyester yarn, acrylic or wool will you you cozy, comfy and warm with stretchy for the winter and if you want to go for 100% cotton like i did in the example is also ok but it less stretchy and not much soft. Or you can go for cotton mixed for better comfy and soft.

Material.

– I used DK weight yarn 1000-1500 yard for size small to medium from bust size 32-38 inch.

– 4.0 mm crochet hook

– Sewing yarn needle

Gauge: 4 hdc = 1 inch

Skill and abbreviations

you will need to know how to make (American crochet term)

-sc which mean single crochet

-dc which mean double crochet

-hdc which mean half double crochet

-blo which mean crochet in back loop only

-1dec which mean crochet decrease = crochet 2 stitch together to become 1 stitch

-ch Chain

-slip knot

-sk  mean skip stitch

Finished Size Approximately:

 This example v neck ribbed sweater is made to fit size small to medium 32-38 inch bust size

For me the model wearing this piece, I am 4’9 feet tall, bust 32 inch.

Back panel.

The foundation chain is the length of the sweater.

First let’s measure your bust size then divide by 2 then add 4 more inch for the loose fitting. See video tutorial for how to make them into your size.

Then start making foundation chain.

We will start with 60 chain I get about 14-15 inch long.

The foundation chain is can make in any number depend on how long you want you sweater to be.

Row1. Make hdc in each chain across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn.

Row2. in back loop only Make hdc in each stitch across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn.

Row3. repeat row2 until we get 20 inch wide for size s-m. then finished off leave long tail for sewing.

Front panel.

Now we will start to make a front panel with the first half then will make the second half later.

First bring your back panel to see how deep of the v neck you want to be then start the foundation chain in any number that will match the length of your back panel with the v neck , see explain in the video tutorial.

In the example piece start with chain 40 you will get about 5 inch deep of v neck.

For all size make the same from row1-12 for v neckline.

Row1. Make hdc in each chain across until the end of the row. chain 1 and turn.

Row2. In back loop only then make hdc in each stitch across until the end of the row then in the last stitch make 2hdc. chain 1 and turn. to start the v neck line.

Row3. In back loop only make 2hdc in the first st to continue to make v neck line then make 1hdc in each stitch across until the end of the row. Chain 1 and turn.

Row 4- 12. repeat row2-3 to make the v neckline for the sweater, then chain 1 and turn.

After row 12 we will finished with the v neck line by stop crochet increase and we will start to create the shoulder for front panel by even it out just hdc in each st across until you match the wide of your back panel.

Row13 and more make hdc in each stitch across until you match the length of your back panel. then fasten off and leave long tail fro sewing.

After we finished with the first half of the front panel then we will repeat the same for the second half of the front panel.

Assembly the sweater.

Lay the back and the front panel in flatted then use yarn needle for sewing to the shoulder and sewing on the side to create the armhole is 7 inch long.

to create the sleeves the length of the foundation chain is about 60 chain depend on how long you want your sleeve to be.

row1. make hdc in each chain across until the end of the row, chain 1 and turn.

row2. make hdc in back loop only in each stitch across untill the end of the row. chain 1 and turn.

row3 and more repeat row3 until you get about14 inch or more that can fir around your armhole. Finished off and leave long tail for sewing.

Attach sleeves.

after we finished 2 pieces of rectangle we will join each rectangle to create the circle after this we will attach the sleeve tot he sweater by sewing.

The cuff.

To make the cuff by simple make the foundation 10 then make hdc in back loop row by row until you have the length enough the will match the length of your wrist.

Then attach wrist to your long sleeves by sewing using yarn needle.
