I have add a little ruffle lace round at the bottom part of the skirt to increase some cuteness to your piece, they can be a great swimsuit cover up or around town just wear a slip underneath.

This cute high waisted skirt has simple construction and use only basic crochet stitch mostly half double crochet which is beginners perfect stitch.

What yarn to use for this Hight waisted skirt?

I use cotton dk weight yarn/ 3 light and you girl can also use any kind of cotton blend yarn or mixed fiber for example, cotton mixed with polyester or recycle yarn and more.

Material.

The example fit my waist size 28 inch. ( easy to adjust to any size)

I used cotton dk weight yarn /3 light

I use around 700 yard 

– 4.0 mm crochet hook 

– Sewing yarn needle

-2 stitch marker

Note: we are crochet this skirt not too tight.

-Blo which mean crochet in back loop only

-hdc which mean half double crochet

-sc which mean single crochet

-ch Chain

-slip knot

-sk  mean skip stitch

–Fancy lace crochet stitch

Finished Size of example piece Approximately:  example size waist 28 inch.

For me the model wearing this piece, I am 4’9 feet tall, bust 32 inch, high waisted 28 inch.

Let’s get into this crochet high waisted skirt free pattern shall we?

First we will measure your waisted line above your belly button.

The foundation chain is the length of waisted line in this example size fit waisted line 28 inch.

Start making foundation chain.

We will start with 94 chain for 28 inch waisted line you girl will have different number for the foundation chain.

After we got your length of the foundation chain we will join the chain to create the circle by slip stitch and start round1.

Round1. Make hdc in each chain across until the end of the round.(do not join round keep continue in spiral)

Round2. Make hdc in each stitch across until the end of the round.(do not join round keep continue in spiral)

Round3. Make hdc in each stitch across until the end of the round.(do not join round keep continue in spiral)

Now we will make crochet increase for the hip.

Round4. *Make hdc in each of the next 2 stitch then 2hdc in next stitch* repeat this* to * across until the end of the round.(do not join round keep continue in spiral)

Round5 and more is for the length of the skirt , Make hdc in each stitch across until the end of the round.(do not join round keep continue in spiral) repeat it until we got around 10 inch long for the skirt , if you want your skirt to be longer just add more round of this.

The edging at the bottom part of the skirt make ruffle lace stitch.

Round1. *Make 1hdc in each of the first stitch then 3hdc in next stitch* repeat this* to * across until the end of the round.(do not join round keep continue in spiral)

Round2. Now we will make a fancy lace stitch by skip first stitch then in the next stitch make 2dc,ch2,2dc all in the same stitch, then *skip3 st and make 2dc,chain2,2dc all in the next st* repeat this * to * and around. Faster off and weave in end.

Now we will move on to make the ruffle at the top edge of the skirt.

Join new yarn at any stitch of the top edge of the skirt you like, then start to make *in the first stitch make 2hdc then in the next stitch make 3hdc* and repeat this * to * around and fasten off and we all done with the skirt.

Make the tie.

To make the tie to secure the skirt just chain the number that will fit your waisted line my one is chain about 150 chain I make it longer just to tie a beautiful bow.
