Let’s get start!

– I used  100% acrylic Lion brand Heartland color redwood. or Lion brand Wool-Ease

Yarn weight  4 medium 142 gram, 251 yard

You will be holding 2 strand of yarn while crochet at all time for this pattern. But If you donot like to work with 2 strand of yarn while crochet just swap with chunky yarn instead it will do the job. For chunky yarn or bulky yarn I would recommend Lion brand wool ease thick and quick.

– 6 mm crochet hook or J/10 US hook size

– Sewing yarn needle

Comments

  1. I’m thinking you repeated the instructions for the armhole trim twice and didn’t cover around the sleeves or neck and down the front area. Am I wrong?

  2. Hi Sandy, Oh yes you are right ^^thanks for tell me, It’s typing mistake, I fixed it now.

  3. Tnank you Jane for the new pattern. How many skeins of yarn would you recommend for this project?

  4. Hi Keely, I use around 8 skein for hold double but if use use chunky yarn probably 5-6 skein.

  5. This was really easy and helpful. Thanks heaps.

  6. Zulma Rivera says

When you finish your rectangle, do you fold it in half or you fold it into certain limit.., I ask because the bottom have to be longer than the top. Correct me if I’m wrong Thank you

  7. Hi Zulma, I fold it inward on each end of the rectangle.

  8. Thanks for the pattern. Could you tell what the stitch multiple is to make it bigger?

  9. Hi, for a longer cocoon, do I add more rows (beyond 38 inches)?

  10. HI DEitra, for longger cocoon yes please do add more row beyond more than 38 inch , perhap 40-45 inch

  11. Hello Jenny, very nice pattern. Here my questions:
    1. Do you ch2 at the end of row 2 then turn or just your triangle stich then turn?
    2. Here it show Hdc and Dc but i do not see it in the pattern? is it missing a portion of instructions?
Your video is great by the way, thank you

  12. HI Mary,
1.Ch3 at end of row2. Just follow the video dear.

your 2 question i do get it you mean hdc and dc in which row?

  13. Hi Jen, Inlook at video but nit able to see or hear if you ch 3 then turn for row 2 and also for row 3 how many you chain before turning.
As per hdc and dc…in the list where you give what kind of stich you use, it’s mention hdc and dc….and i dont see them in the pattern. thank’s

  14. oh i will look into it thank you. maybe follow the video is best for now.

  15. Cheryl Myers says

Can you make the keep me warm caccoon cardigan with one strand of worsted weight yarn instead of two strands held together.

  16. HI sheryl, yes you can make with 1 strand.

  17. Hey Jane

Love this pattern. Just a couple of questions, for the foundation chain, do you make 101 chains, skip one and work into the chain so you end up with 100 stitches each row, or 100 chains, skip one and end up with 99? Also for the amount of yarn in yards, is it 251 yards in length when the two strands are together or 251 in total? Thanks!

  18. Hi Rakhi, so i got 100 chain each row for 251 yard is just for 1 skein for 1 strand of yarn.
