Sizing your crochet pullover.

Remember, when you are about to start to crochet this pullover, it’s essential to measure your body so you can get the perfect fit for your size.

This jumper is made to measure so you can crochet them in any size base on your shoulder measurement or your bust measurement.

For bust measurement: my bust measurement is 32 inches, then divide by 2, which is equal to 16 inches for the width of your front and back panel.

However, I added 3 inches more for a relaxed fit for my sweater, so the width of my front and back panel will be 19 inches, and the foundation chain will be 19 inches wide.

For shoulder measurement: measure from one shoulder to the other end of your shoulder that will be the with of your foundation chain.

For example, my shoulder measurment16 inches wide, then I added 3 more inches so that it will be 19 inches for a relaxed fit for my sweater.

If you girl want a perfect fit just go for as you measure your shoulders do not need to add more inches.

The measurement of one rectangle.

  • 13-14 inches long for a crop size length. A full-length sweater is 15-16 inches. Just add more rows.
  • 19 inches wide fit bust size 30-34 inches.

First, let’s measure your shoulder. For example, my shoulder length is 16 INCHES.

So I will get 16 inches for the width of my front and back panel; I add 3 more inches for relex fit, so my foundation chain is 19 inches and the width of my front and back panel is 19 inches.

Feel free to add more inches for an oversize.

See the video tutorial for how to make them into your size.

Start a foundation chain.

Pick up a crochet hook size 4.0 mm and Start off by making a slip knot.

Then make 60+2 chains  for sizes small and medium  fit from bust size 30-34 ( For the other size, start a foundation chain in multiples of 3+2 that matches your shoulder length size measurement)

After you get the foundation chain then, make sc in each chain across, turn, and start row 1 of the granny stitch.

Row1: ch2, then make 1dc in the same stitch * skip 2 stitches, then work 3dc in next stitch*   repeat * to * across until end of the row until you will have 3 stitches remain, skip 2 st, 2dc in the last stitch, ch2 turn.

Row2. now you will work 3dc  in each space ( between double crochet groups) across until the end of the row, then dc in the last stitch,  turn.

Row 3 and row 4 Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you get around 13 inches deep then, on the last row, make triple crochet in each stitch across until the end of the last row.

crochet sleeves.

Crocheting the long sleeves.

The long sleeves make 2 pieces.

The measurement of one rectangle for the sleeves.

  • 16 inches long for sleeves length. Just add more rows for longer sleeves.
  • 15 inches wide fit armhole 7.5 inches when folded in half.

Start a foundation chain.

Pick up a crochet hook size 4.0 mm and Start off by making a slip knot.

Then make 48+2 chains for sleeves length 15 inches long. ( For the longer sleeve, start a foundation chain in multiples of 3+2)

After you get the foundation chain then, make sc in each chain across, turn, and start row 1 of the granny stitch.

Repeat rows 1-2 from the stitch pattern of the sweater body above until you get the desired length of your long sleeves.

Assemble the sleeve, fold the rectangle in half, then sew each end to create the tube for each piece of the rectangle.

long sleeves.

Crocheting cuff.

crochet a ribbed band.

Now, we are crocheting the 2 ribbing bands separately and then attach to the sleeves.

To create a ribbed band, start with chain 9 ( chain 9 is around 2.5 inches thick for the cuff. You can add more chain for a thicker cuff or decrease chain for a thinner cuff), then hdc in each chain across row 1, then chain 1, and turn to row 2.

On row 2, make hdc in the back loop only to create the ribbed effect, and repeat row 2 until you got enough length that will cover your wrist.

Attach the cuff to the sleeves.

Now we attach the cuff to the sleeves by sewing using a yarn needle.
