The entire of this shrug is made from half double crochet stitch in the back loop to create a beautiful ribbed knit-like garment.
You can also spice this sweater with different colors, like a rainbow, or add a long sleeve to it.

For this beautiful cozy collar shrug, I use cotton yarn DK weight yarn/3 light; it is perfect for the summer and spring seasons.
And you can also use any kind of DK weight yarn to crocheted this shrug from polyester yarn, acrylic, or cotton blend, depending on how warm of a shrug you want.
For example, if your girl goes for acrylic yarn or wool yarn, you will have a warmer shrug to wear for a chilly cold day in the winter.
The cotton yarn or any plant fiber yarn will be perfect for hot and humid weather.

The other size, up to 2XL, is easy to adjust by just adding more chains to the foundation chain to make it bigger.

How to crochet a cozy Shrug step-by-step video tutorial.
Cozy crochet ribbed shrug-free pattern instruction.
Shrug’s body makes 1 piece.
Start making a foundation chain.
- Small size chain 120.
- Medium chain 130
- Large 140
- XL 150
- 2XL 160
After we chain 120 chains, you will get around 34 inches long and then will start on row 1.
Row 1. Make hdc in each chain across until the end of the row. Chain 1 and turn.
Row 2. Make hdc back loop only in each stitch across until the end of the row. Chain 1 and turn.
Row 3 and more. Repeat row 2 until you get a length of 22 inches for all sizes.
Assemble.
Lay the rectangle in the flatted fold on each end until they meet, then use the yarn needle to sew to create the armhole.
The armhole will be around 5 inches.
Crochet a cozy collar.
Start with chain 18; you will get around 4 inches of the ribbed band if you want the thicker band to add more chains to the foundation chain, for example, 20 chains, 30, or more.
After, we got a long rectangle that has a length that will match the opening of the shrug body.
Row1. make hdc in each chain across until the end of the row. chain1 and turn
Row2. make 1hdc in each stitch back loop only until the end of the row. chain1 and turn
Row3 and more. repeat row 2 until you get the length that will match the opening of your shrug.
Join the ribbed band and the body to create the collar.
Lay the shrug body and the ribbed band, then join them together by sc or slip stitch or sewing using a yarn needle.
Tidy up the armhole is an option.
The armhole is good as it is, but if you want to tidy up and make them a bit more pretty, make Hdc around the armhole for just 1 or 2 rounds, and that’s all I did.
Now it’s time to wear them and have fun!

I LOVE this shrug!!! Thank you so much for the pattern but I'd one to make more of a sleeve so it covers more of my as. How do I extend a sleeve? D I just keep crocheting 8?? Thank you so much!!!
