  • Sewing yarn needle

  • sc, which means single crochet

Crochet scarf body.

Start off by making a slip knot. Then make 130 chains of foundation chain

Row1.    Hhdc in the next chain from hook,  then Hhdc in each chain across until the end of the row, ch1 turn.

Row2.   Hhdc in next stitch from hook, and in each st across until the end of the row. ch1 turn.

Row3-18. Repeat row 2 until you get the desired width. I measure mine around 56 inches long and 6 inches wide.

Fasten off and leave the long tail for sewing.

The ribbed band we make is separate from the long scarf.

Start off by making a slip knot. Then make 9 chains foundation chain

Row1.    hdc in the next chain from hook,  then hdc in each chain across until the end of the row, ch1 turn.

Row2.   Blo, hdc in next stitch from hook, and in each st across until the end of the row. ch1 turn.

Row3-11. Repeat row 2 until you get the length that matches the width of the scarf.

Fasten off and leave the long tail for sewing.

Assemble crocheted scarf.

Line up the end of the long scarf and the band.

Using your yarn needle and whip stitch to attach the band and the scarf together.

Tie off and weave in end.
